1. Belvedere Castle
Named for the Italian meaning "beautiful view," Central Park's Belvedere Castle offers park goers exactly what its name implies. With its two balconies, it supplies wonderful panoramic views that include some of Central Park's most beautiful and famous landmarks: the Delacorte Theater, the Great Lawn, the Turtle Pond and the Ramble.

2. Great Lawn
In the center of Central Park lies the Great Lawn, a green pasture of 55-acres that is considered one of the most famous lawns in the world. Located mid-park from 79th to 85th Streets, The Great Lawn is a wonderful place to have a picnic on a spring afternoon or to catch some rays in the summer sun. It is open from mid-April until mid-November.

3. Central Park Zoo
Welcome to the Wildlife Conservation Society's Central Park Zoo and the Tisch Children's Zoo. Here, just a few yards from 5th Ave. you’ll find over 130 different species ranging from giant Polar Bears to the tiny Leaf Cutter ants. A walk around the Zoo’s five plus acres will take you through a variety of habitats, all carefully designed to recreate the natural environment of the animals they house. Be sure to check out the renovated Polar Seabirds exhibit with their 4 new King Penguins and the Children's Zoo's newest member - A newborn baby Mini-Nubian Goat!

4. Wollman Rink
It's New York magic at its best - to glide gracefully across the ice under a star-encrusted sky while surrounded by the splendor of Manhattan.
Central Park's Wollman Rink is the perfect place to create such enchantment.
The skating rink, open from late October to early April, is less than a five-minute walk from the south entrance of W. 59th Street and 6th Avenue. The rink opens daily at 10:00 AM and closing times vary

5. Carousel
The famous ride has been very popular since 1871 when the original attraction opened.
Location: Mid-Park at 64th Street
Details: $2 for a 3 and a half minute ride. Open daily April–November, 10:00am-6:00pm, weather permitting
Open weekends November-April 10:00am-4:30pm, weather permitting

6. Lasker Pool & Rink
A dual-purpose Central Park recreational site, the Lasker area serves as both a pool during the summer and an ice skating rink during the winter. Located mid-park between 106th and 108th Streets, the site overlooks the beautiful Harlem Meer and is favorite of active park-goers all year round.

7. Baseball and Softball Play Ground
Central Park has 26 state of the art ballfields on which to play softball and baseball. They are located at the southern end of the park at Heckscher Playground (six ball fields), mid-park on the Great Lawn (eight ball fields) and on the North Meadow (seven baseball and five softball fields).

8. Tennis Center
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced tennis player looking to improve your game, the Tennis Center is a great place to practice your skills. Its thirty courts are surrounded by the beautiful elm, black cherry, and mulberry trees of Central Park. Their popularity is such that famous tennis players Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, and others have also frequented these picturesque courts.
